Pre-Tan Checklist

  • Shower, shave, and exfoliate using a loofa.  It's best to do this step 24 hours in advance to allow your pores time to close to avoid dark spots in your pores.
NOTE: Avoid using packaged exfoliating scrubs (sugar scrubs, etc.) because most contain oils that will leave your airbrush tan blotchy.  Pay special attention to knees, elbows, and ankles these areas tend to have dry skin buildup.

  • Make sure your skin is clean and dry for your appointment. Avoid lotions the day of your tan. Too much moisture causes tanning products to slide right off the skin.

  • Skip perfume, deodorant and makeup on the day of your tan if at all possible. This may cause discoloration or a patchy tan result that won't last long. If you must, wash off prior to your appointment.

Your Appointment

  • Wear dark colored or old undergarments to tan in.  Disposable panties are available if you prefer. Topless is fine, but we recommend you wear bottoms for you safety. (Solutions are considered to be safe and have been FDA approved ONLY if you protect mucous membranes.)

  • Nose filters, eye protection, and sticky feet are also provided and recommended for your safety.

  • Wear loose-fitting clothing after your spray tan–scrubs, work out clothing, etc.  No jeans or tight-fitting shirts–this will make your spray tan blotchy.

  • Bring flip-flops or other loose shoes. Socks are a bad idea.

Post-Tan Instructions (Regular)

  • Recommended development time is 8-hours and no longer than 24 hours before taking a shower.

  • For your first shower, use plain water. Avoid shower gels, scrubs, shampoos or loofah.

  • Pat your skin dry. Do not rub or scrub your skin.

Post-Tan Instructions (Rapid)

  • After letting the tan develop for 1-3+ hours, shower quickly for 45 secs, with lukewarm water. The brown bronzers will wash away, so you it might seem like your tan disappeared. It didn't. The fast tan actives continue to work and deepen over the next 24 hours.
*Do not use hot water - it stops the development of tan actives during the development time. This is a common mistake people make, especially in the colder months.

  • For your first shower, use plain water. Avoid shower gels, scrubs, shampoos or loofah during the first 24 hours after your treatment.

  • Pat your skin dry. Do not rub or scrub your skin.

Maintaining Your Spray Tan

  • Moisturize everyday after applying your self tan. Using a tan extender product will keep your skin hydrated while also topping up the color of your tan for longer lasting results.

  • If desired, after day 5, you can gently exfoliate with a soft body polish on a daily basis. This will help your skin absorb even more moisturizer and keep it looking and feeling gorgeous. This also helps the tan fade naturally, rather than in patches.
